Welcome September!

It's the 3rd of September and I cannot believe that 9 months have passed already from this year. This month is a bit eventful for me .. First of all I got some brilliant news yesterday which is one of many milestones in my life.

Also this week I purchased a brand new computer, one which i have been longing for. Also its the month which many shows will continue and also start. The most awaiting ones are Gossip Girl and Desperate Housewives.

Also as per studies, its the month where the Accounts saga has yet begun again and also is the last month to hit the books for the IF1 session. Summer is coming to an end and my favorite time of the year is coming closer. Lets work hard to have a memorable few months left of the year 2010.

Inception and Dreams

Inception … hmm an awesome movie but after the ending, I had some thoughts about dreams. Could we really control our dreams? Do dreams really mean something? Do we find sorrow in our dreams to escape our reality?

I have made some research to answer a bit of my questions and I found an interesting topic – Lucid Dreaming. The meaning of this is that despite being asleep and in the midst of a dream, the dreamer is aware that he or she is dreaming. Lucid dreams give the dreamer the ability to control dreams and steer them towards different outcomes. Could this be possible?

I myself feel that in certain dreams, I feel like I am escaping this reality and making my own world. Some more research is to be done about this subject but on the whole, the film is excellent and it gives you a total new insight about dreams.

A Day With The Gozitans - Birthday Trip

I am now at home relaxed after a very relaxing day at Gozo. A few great friends of mine including my parents and I, went to the other Maltese island as part of my birthday celebration. All I can say is it was a day full of surprises, laughter and happiness. I loved every second of the day except the heat hehe. The biggest surprise of the day is when my two best friends Wendy and David, gave me a book, The Alchemist, as a present. I really didn’t expect anything from them. I was very happy that they came with me to Gozo. Anyway I loved the present and it is one of my favourite presents this year J I am sure it is an interesting book as they have great tastes J Also I managed to purchase a few interesting books too. One is called The Great Wall, which is the history of the Great Wall of China and the other book is called The Gates of Troy, which is touching greek basis so I will love it.

Now I am trying to relax after this eventful day and all that I can say is apart that my legs are killing me, is that I will remember this day for many years to come and will sleep with a smile on my face J

Book Club

Last Wednesday, I attended my very first book club. At first I felt a bit awkward as they had read Captain Corelli’s Mandolin and everyone was discussing about this book. But after a while it was okey and I really enjoyed myself listening to other people’s opinion and also learning about some new authors and books.

For the next meeting I will be fully prepared as we are going to discuss the book “Disgrace”. I have ordered the book online and waiting for it to arrive so I would start reading. Anyway I shall continue to attend these meetings so I can discover new books and authors and continue my interest of reading J

First Time Blog

Hey everyone :)

My name is Steven Spiteri from Malta, the rock as I like to call it and this is my first time creating a blog (so do not expect me to have a great one straight away hehe).

I am 21 years old and currently residing at Birkirkara. My current occupation is a Finance Officer at FirstUnited Insurance Management with some insurance duties.

At the moment, i'm trying to set some priorities in my life which mainly are regarding studying and goals for the next few years. I have been working at FirstUnited since the January and it was my first time working in an accounts department after some years studying this subject. Also I form part of the insurance department which I never imagined this would happen but after these months, insurance and accounts are a big part of my life and I have no regrets.

Thanks to this experience, I can say that I have settled down and realized my career path, which is accounts and insurance related. At the moment, I am studying both subjects and aim that in the future I will get their respective diplomas. This coming October I will sit for my first CII exam which is the IF1 and next May I will sit for my Accounts Matsec Session.

As for interests. Hmmm so much to say but my main interest is relating to TV Shows. I like to watch these American sitcoms, drama, comedy etc, and also these English comedies and Japanese anime. I have many favourite shows but if I start expanding my list here I think I would need a new blog J

Hmm what else can I say on this blog ....

This upcoming week will be an exciting one for me. This Monday I shall purchase a Nintendo DSi XL as part of my birthday present from my Mum and I what I can say is " I CAN'T WAIT :D ". I've been wanting one for years and now it’s finally hear. As you might guessed, I like playing this console games. In-fact after a stressful day at work, I like to relax on my bed and play with my PS2.

Also another fact why I can't wait for this week is, that this coming Wednesday I will be attending my first ever Book Club meeting. A strong interest I have is reading and expanding my knowledge through the use of books, so this meeting will be an enjoyable part of this interest.

This Friday, the company that I work for is holding their annual staff day out to Kemmuna. Let’s relax under the sun with a glass of beer (not wine because I don’t want to fall on the sofa … long story).

Anyway, at last I found something that I can express myself easy. So now I will start blogging my views of life and everyday experiences and challenges through this blog.

Anyhow … its past midnight and I need my beauty sleep. Weekend is almost over L Goodnight bloggers and keep posting
