Eurovision

Oh well … time to write something I guess. It’s been a long time J. If you noticed I also changed the name of my blog. I heard this from one my favourite tv shows and thought I could adapt that here.

Today’s topic is Eurovision. I am a huge fan of Eurovision. In fact I am already making plans to go to BAKU and make my dream come true and be a part of the Eurovision experience.

This year was an amazing year for songs and performances and as for staging and effect not so amusing.

I love the Azerbaijan song but deep down I much prefer the German song, sung by last year’s winner Lena. Taken by a stranger and a deep, dark and dangerous song. I also loved Jedward’s song. It’s was full of energy and to see 2 young guys with all that enthusiasm and happiness, they just want to make you jump with them. Overall I was quite happy about the songs that made it through to the final but was really disappointed that my top favourites Israel, Cyprus and Lativa were eliminated at the semi-finals.

Oh I better stop here or I will go on all night talking about Eurovision. But at least I am already making plans to go to Baku. Today I researched about the flights and how to get there. It’s quite easy actually in terms of flights and not that expensive.

When Jedward won the Irish pre-selection, they warned Europe that they are going to conquer Eurovision so they better watch out and I will warn Baku that I will be conquering their City in a year’s time J

Welcome September!

It's the 3rd of September and I cannot believe that 9 months have passed already from this year. This month is a bit eventful for me .. First of all I got some brilliant news yesterday which is one of many milestones in my life.

Also this week I purchased a brand new computer, one which i have been longing for. Also its the month which many shows will continue and also start. The most awaiting ones are Gossip Girl and Desperate Housewives.

Also as per studies, its the month where the Accounts saga has yet begun again and also is the last month to hit the books for the IF1 session. Summer is coming to an end and my favorite time of the year is coming closer. Lets work hard to have a memorable few months left of the year 2010.

Inception and Dreams

Inception … hmm an awesome movie but after the ending, I had some thoughts about dreams. Could we really control our dreams? Do dreams really mean something? Do we find sorrow in our dreams to escape our reality?

I have made some research to answer a bit of my questions and I found an interesting topic – Lucid Dreaming. The meaning of this is that despite being asleep and in the midst of a dream, the dreamer is aware that he or she is dreaming. Lucid dreams give the dreamer the ability to control dreams and steer them towards different outcomes. Could this be possible?

I myself feel that in certain dreams, I feel like I am escaping this reality and making my own world. Some more research is to be done about this subject but on the whole, the film is excellent and it gives you a total new insight about dreams.

A Day With The Gozitans - Birthday Trip

I am now at home relaxed after a very relaxing day at Gozo. A few great friends of mine including my parents and I, went to the other Maltese island as part of my birthday celebration. All I can say is it was a day full of surprises, laughter and happiness. I loved every second of the day except the heat hehe. The biggest surprise of the day is when my two best friends Wendy and David, gave me a book, The Alchemist, as a present. I really didn’t expect anything from them. I was very happy that they came with me to Gozo. Anyway I loved the present and it is one of my favourite presents this year J I am sure it is an interesting book as they have great tastes J Also I managed to purchase a few interesting books too. One is called The Great Wall, which is the history of the Great Wall of China and the other book is called The Gates of Troy, which is touching greek basis so I will love it.

Now I am trying to relax after this eventful day and all that I can say is apart that my legs are killing me, is that I will remember this day for many years to come and will sleep with a smile on my face J

Book Club

Last Wednesday, I attended my very first book club. At first I felt a bit awkward as they had read Captain Corelli’s Mandolin and everyone was discussing about this book. But after a while it was okey and I really enjoyed myself listening to other people’s opinion and also learning about some new authors and books.

For the next meeting I will be fully prepared as we are going to discuss the book “Disgrace”. I have ordered the book online and waiting for it to arrive so I would start reading. Anyway I shall continue to attend these meetings so I can discover new books and authors and continue my interest of reading J
